There are a thousand and one ways to studying literature =)
It was a journey of pain, and a series of losses, for the students locked in the classroom that tried to take after the times of Shakespeare.
Krishia, sitting on the high-up and almighty chair, held a position of authority, over us, students, all ready to catch the pearls dropping off her mouth.
A pleasant class --what we wished for. Reality states otherwise.
Krishia's duty had been admonishing, cajoling and browbeating the handful of innocent boys and girls.
N-olas: "H..O..N...O..R..S"
Krishia stares in disgust.
Then came from afar, the groans from a victim of the classroom.
"a long dip in this river, or a finger poked into a snake hold... there are two thousand ways of ending this misery" says Karisa. "Oh, God, send me to those flames at once, how am i going to continue like this, what am i going to do?!"
The old and wise Jwashua heard the ear-piercing cry from Karisa. " oh! if you do not know what you are going to do or not do, who else can? "
At the other end of the room, Sulene could take all these no longer. Being "cowed" by the superior force of Krishia, she fell ill.
" Oh no, its typhoiddd!!!" cried Juane.
"i like tyhoid" Izuak made a ridiculous remark. " shes going to be alright"
Days went on, with all of us monitoring Sulene's condition.
Each time we took her temperature, we watched the mercury rise with a beating heart. Heights of contentment were reached if any good progress was shown. The depths of misery were touched, if he condition showed otherwise,
"oohhhh, its nothing. just apply ice" said Izuak
This went on, and finally, the fateful day arrived.
Krishia drew the blanket over sulene, and placed her on the floor facing the east.
Jwashua cried out in misery "SULENEEEE!!"
After her death, days aquired a perciliar blankness and emptyness. Death and its associate, after the initial shock, produce callousness.
Still, we stayed in the classroom, mugging up shakespeare for the sake of doing so.
Soon we began to realize, life is just but a series of losses and seperation. From the moment we were born, we were seperated from our mother's womb.
We continued with our life, and on the day we were released, it was a moment of rare, immurtalbe joy-- a moment for which everyone feels grateful to life and death, and even grateful to Krishia.
To all those lit-ty people out there, have fun swallowing the book! hahaha
by the way, it was Sulene's birthday yesterday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! =)
